Customer Technical Program Manager (Japan)

Customer Technical Program Manager (Japan)

Tokyo | First hire of its kind in Japan | Highly competitive package

Be the first person on the ground in Japan for a physical AI company whose model makes sense of real-world sensor data, and lead its programmes with some of the country's biggest enterprises.

The company

A Bay Area physical AI company building a foundation model that understands the physical world through sensor data, from cameras and radar to industrial and IoT signals, so organisations can ask questions of what's happening in their real-world operations and get useful answers. It's backed by top-tier investors and already working with major enterprise partners in Japan.

The role

As the first hire of its kind, you'll lead customer programmes with Japanese enterprise customers and partners, turning ambitious AI projects into delivered results. You'll set how the company runs customer delivery in Japan and work directly with the US product and engineering teams.

What you'll own

  • End-to-end technical programmes with Japanese enterprise customers, from scoping and planning to deployment and value delivered.
  • The relationship between customer stakeholders and the US engineering and research teams, translating in both directions, language and context included.
  • Programme risk, timelines and expectations, keeping senior customer stakeholders confident.
  • The playbook for how customer programmes run in Japan as the business grows.

What you'll bring

  • Native or fluent Japanese and strong business English.
  • Experience leading technical programmes or projects with large Japanese enterprises, ideally in AI, IoT, telecoms, enterprise software or industrial technology.
  • Enough technical depth to hold your own with engineers and challenge a plan.
  • Comfort being first in, building structure where there isn't any yet.

Why this one

Physical AI is one of the most exciting areas in tech right now and Japan is a priority market. As the first hire, you'll shape the function, the customer relationships and your own growth from day one.
